"I first registered for Homeswap in September 2011 for my Mum and Dad as they were in their 80's I was looking for something for both of them because even though they lived in a beautiful bungalow on the Bournviile Village Trust, they had some steep steps to encounter walking up the path and into the bungalow itself. Unfortunately the week before Christmas Dad was poorly and on Christmas Eve was admitted to hospital where he spent the next 4 weeks in critical care where they did everything for him but he did not respond to treatment and we were told that he would not come out of hospital. This was very hard for us all but it meant I had to now change the criteria and look for a single flat in sheltered accommodation and within 5 days we viewed a flat which overlooked the stunning beautiful grounds even in Winter. It was rxactly what Mum was looking for. The lady came to see Mums bungalow the next day and fell in love with it as soon as she walked through the door. We had been on the Bournville Village Trust waiting list for two years waiting for sheltered housing but in just a few days Mum found exactly what she was looking for and peace of mind for us as a family. Thank you very very much homeswap - we couldn't have done it without you."
